Taytu Betul était la femme du Negus Negest Menelik II. Femme forte, elle participe à la bataille d'Adoua contre les italiens en 1896. Elle mène sa propre troupe d'hommes. Les italiens seront battus limitant ainsi leur expansion coloniale. C'est la première bataille gagnée par un pays Africains contre les occidentaux. Elle est à ce jour toujours un symbole d'indépendance.

Taytu Betul was the Negus Negest Menelik II wife. Strong woman, she participated to the Adwa Battle against italians in 1896. She had her own army. Italians lost and their colonies were limited. It was the first battle won by an african country against occident. It's still a symbole of independence.
